Harvested and steam distilled in Madagascar from the leaves of wild trees on organic, swampy land.

Niaouli oil is pale yellow to greenish yellow to almost colorless liquid of strong, fresh, sweet-camphoraceous, but cooling odor, reminiscent of eucalyptus oil and cardamom oil, however, less spicy that the latter. The flavor is warm, only slightly biting, aromatic, somewhat sweet and fresh eucalyptus-like The sweetness in odor and flavor is quite characteristic, different from eucalyptus oil, or cajuput.

Niaouli is used in medicinal and pharmaceutical preparations, in flavors for cough drops, liquids, mouth sprays, etc
