Tarragon (estragon) is a colorless, or very pale yellow to greenish-yellow liquid, with a sweet-anisic, green-spicy, slightly celery-like odor, very similar to that of the fresh herb.

The flavor of this oil is sweet and slightly spicy-aromatic, reminiscent of anise and basil with that faint celery note.

Tarragon (Estragon) is used perfumery, usually in trace amounts, in chypre, l’origan types, fougères, lilac bases, green floral bases, etc.

Blends well with galbanum, lavender, vanilla, clove, oakmoss etc

The flavor is extensively used in liquors and to replace the herb in commercial canning production.

Blending is suggested with sweet fennel, ginger, cardamom, peppermint, roman chamomile, clary sage, lavender, sweet marjoram.

Best used in a compress, massage, ointment, and inhalation. Not recommended for the bath.
