Mindfulness

This is basically using essential oils to aid in a mindful approach to meditation, to exercise, to being at one within your self and to enhance the body-mind connection. And yes, it actually is covered under the "aromatherapy" page but I think it's worth a separate mention here simply because of what we've gone though over the past almost two years, and the three years before that, and indeed the sum of our lives, since the 1980s, and before.

I will confine it to the pandemic and the problems that we faced and continue to face, and the need to be nice to ourselves, and to each other, and take a deep breath again and give ourselves a chance to process things.

We've got a hell of a lot of problems right now, as Americans, and as Earthlings. One thing we can do is try to slow down, to feel our emotions, and then deal with them, to stretch our bodies, and loosen our minds, and try to find a place within ourselves where we feel good, and safe, and secure, and from which we, ideally, reach out to the rest of the world from.

No matter what happens next, we have to try to process as much of our emotions as we can, and keep ourselves as healthy as possible, in our minds, in our bodies, and in a spiritual way, no matter which, if any, religion we follow. We all live on the earth.

We've lost too many people to a virus, and we've lost others due to accusations and anger and gaslighting. And we are on track to lose the only home we have, the planet earth. We have to come together to stop this free fall. And I'm certain that the first step is to stop what we're doing, and what we are reacting to, and the chaos and violence, and just all of it, and sit with ourselves, even for a few minutes.

I guess that's what I mean by Mindfulness. You don't actually need essential oils for this. But some people find them beneficial. Personally, I use a drop of sandalwood on my third eye every morning. And I often burn frankincense resin at home, and agarwood too, when there's something I want to focus on or celebrate.

I had no idea what I was going to write about here--but this seems right and timely. As a species, it's time we get our sh*t together before we go violently and heartbreakingly extinct.

The only advice I can muster is to slow down, go inside ourselves, even if it's just for a minute at a time, take a few deep breaths, and try to be present, and hope we're guided towards turning around this juggernaut, and treating our world with respect, and healing our planet. We don't have another, and frankly, I wouldn't want one. Would you?

Time is moving fast now. It's time to stop indulging our lower selves, and time to step up, by allowing our inner selves to flourish. Aromatics might help you, or not.
