img-0881.jpgA Quick History

1995-Opened Trygvé Fragrances! at the Soho Emporium on West Broadway between Spring and Prince Sts. We specialized in Arabic and African Aromatics with a few essential oils and bath/body care.

1996-Opened Trygvé Aromatics at 23 Jones Street between Bleecker and West 3rd Sts. This store was ridiculously cute, and we stayed open a crazy 12-12 7 days a week. Our specialty shifted to our own range of very clear and clean beautiful essential oils, and skin and bath care and some perfumes from small companies we liked. Also, some crafts.

1997-Black Friday we opened Enfleurage at 321 Bleecker Street between Christopher and Grove. We expanded everything, still specializing in beautiful essential oils and strange and wild aromatics from Africa and the Middle East. We made skin and body care from foods in the back and offered it by the oz in our refrigerated case. In addition to the cold bar, we had a blending bar, where we made essential oil blends to order. We also had a local corner, where we sold small handmade skincare from the New York area. These were all phased out over time.

2011--Enfleurage moved to 237 West 13 St, between 7th and 8th/Hudson, at the edge of the Meatpacking. This has been our 10th year here--we continue to specialize in technicolor aromatics--essential oils and some raw incense. We curated our product list down to our favorites, and we make our own luxury line of perfumes, candles, etc. Always all natural, always whole, organic when possible, and terroir matters!
